How to Use Stork Scissors

1. Use the curved tip to trim excess tape tab flush with the weft edge before install.
2. Cut into the weft on an angle to blend ends, never straight across.
3. Keep the blades dedicated to extension hair only - cutting tape adhesive dulls shears fast.
4. Wipe adhesive residue from the blades with alcohol after each install.
5. Store closed and dry to protect the tip.

Extension Aftercare Basics

• Use sulphate-free and alcohol-free shampoo and conditioner; keep conditioner off the bonds and tabs.
• Brush with a loop or extension brush from the ends upward, holding the row at the root.
• Dry the attachment points fully - wet bonds and tabs slip and mildew.
• Braid or loosely tie hair before sleeping.
• Book move-ups on schedule; overgrown rows cause matting and breakage.

Do I need special scissors for hair extensions?

Yes. Extension shears have narrow, often curved blades that reach between rows and tabs. Using your regular cutting shears on tape adhesive will dull them permanently.

Can I cut tape-in extensions myself?

Blending should be done by your stylist. Cutting a weft straight across leaves a visible blunt shelf.

Will extensions damage my natural hair?

Correctly installed and moved up on schedule, no. Damage comes from rows left in too long, tension that is too tight, or brushing without supporting the root.

What shampoo should I use with extensions?

Sulphate-free and alcohol-free. Sulphates and alcohol break down tape adhesive and keratin bonds.

How do I remove tape-in or keratin bond extensions?

With a purpose-made remover solution applied to the bond or tab, then gently sliding the extension free. Never pull. We stock keratin bond and tape-in remover sprays.

Can extensions be coloured?

Human hair extensions can be toned or deposited darker. Lifting them is not recommended - they do not regenerate oils and will not survive bleach the way growing hair does.
