Why DuPont Delrin matters

• Heat-resistant. Will not warp under blow-dryer or flat-iron heat used in professional styling.

Care and sterilization

• Rinse hair, product and colour off the comb after every client.
• Delrin is safe in standard salon wet-disinfectant solutions (Barbicide and equivalents); follow the disinfectant manufacturer immersion time.
• Air-dry. Avoid prolonged soaking beyond the disinfectant's stated time.
• Do not place directly on a hot flat-iron plate; the comb is heat-resistant for use near heat, not as a heat conductor.

What is Delrin and why is it better than a regular plastic comb? Delrin is a DuPont acetal polymer engineered for high heat-resistance, low static and low friction. A standard plastic comb can warp under a blow-dryer and generates static that lifts the cuticle; Delrin does neither.

Can I use a Krest Goldilocks comb with a flat iron? Yes - that is exactly what the line is designed for. The Delrin will not melt or warp at typical flat-iron temperatures used in professional styling.

What is the difference between the #4 and the #5? The #4 is an all-purpose styling and cutting comb with both coarse and fine teeth. The #5 is a pintail (rattail) comb used for precise sectioning during colour, perm, roller setting and updos.
