The GiGi Soft Wax Buyer's Guide
Every soft wax in the GiGi line is a strip wax - you melt it in a warmer (or microwave the Honee tubs), apply a thin layer in the direction of hair growth, press a cloth or pellon strip on top, and pull against the growth. Where the formulas differ is who they are built for.

How to use GiGi soft wax (step by step)
- Prep. Clean and dry the skin. Hair should be about a quarter inch long (roughly 10 days of growth).
- Heat. Melt the wax in a professional wax warmer at the manufacturer's recommended setting until it has the consistency of warm honey. (Honee tubs are also microwavable - follow the label.) Always patch-test the temperature on the inside of your wrist.
- Apply. Using a wood spatula, spread a thin, even layer in the direction of hair growth.
- Strip. Press a cloth or pellon strip firmly over the wax, leaving a tab at one end. Hold the skin taut and pull the strip back against the direction of growth, low and fast - parallel to the skin.
- Soothe. Apply a post-wax oil or soothing lotion to remove residue and calm the area.
Soft wax vs hard wax - what GiGi soft wax is for
GiGi soft wax (the entire range above) is a strip wax: it stays tacky and is removed with a cloth strip. It is the fastest way to clear large areas like legs, arms, back and chest and is the format taught in most esthetics programs. Hard (stripless) wax, which shrink-wraps around the hair and is pulled off by itself, is a separate category - it is most often used for bikini, Brazilian and underarm. Eastern Beauty Supply currently curates GiGi's soft-wax line on this collection; if you are looking for stripless hard wax we will point you to alternative pro brands we carry.
Pre-wax and post-wax care
- Before: exfoliate 24-48 hours before waxing, skip retinoids and acids (AHA/BHA) for 3-5 days before service, and avoid waxing over fresh tan, sunburn, broken skin or active cold sores.
- After: no hot showers, saunas, pools, gyms or tight clothing for 24 hours. Resume gentle exfoliation after 48 hours to prevent ingrown hairs.
- Wait at least 10 days between sessions on the same area so the hair can grow back to the quarter-inch length needed for clean removal.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy GiGi wax in Canada?
Eastern Beauty Supply is an authorized Canadian stockist of GiGi. We ship from Kingston, Ontario with free expedited shipping on orders over $59 before tax.
Is GiGi All Purpose Honee a soft wax or a hard wax?
All Purpose Honee is a soft (strip) wax. It is removed with a cloth or pellon strip, not by itself.
How do I use GiGi Creme Wax?
Melt in a wax warmer to a warm-honey consistency, apply a thin layer with a spatula in the direction of growth, press a cloth strip on top, then pull against the direction of growth parallel to the skin. Finish with a post-wax oil.
What is the difference between GiGi Creme Wax and Tea Tree Creme?
Both are skin-calming creme soft waxes. Tea Tree Creme adds tea tree oil, which is naturally antimicrobial and a good choice for clients with reactive or breakout-prone skin.
What is Azulene wax?
Azulene is a calming compound derived from chamomile. GiGi Azulene Wax is a soft strip wax that conditions and soothes the skin as you wax - a salon favourite for sensitive skin and fuller-body services.
Which GiGi wax is best for the bikini line or underarms?
For the most sensitive areas in a soft-wax format, GiGi No Sting Wax is formulated to apply at a lower temperature. Many estheticians prefer a hard (stripless) wax for true Brazilians; ask us about pro stripless alternatives if that is what you need.
Can you put GiGi Honee straight into a wax warmer?
Yes - the All Purpose Honee and Facial Honee tubs are designed to be placed directly into a professional wax warmer that fits a 14 oz can. Always follow your warmer manufacturer's heat settings and patch-test before applying to the client.
Is GiGi wax safe during pregnancy?
Waxing is generally considered safe during pregnancy, but pregnant skin can be more sensitive. Check with your healthcare provider, and use a gentler formula such as Creme, Tea Tree Creme or No Sting.
Do you carry GiGi wax warmers, hard wax or microwave kits?
On the GiGi collection we currently focus on the soft-wax line listed above. If you need a wax warmer, stripless hard wax or a starter kit we will gladly recommend an equivalent professional option we stock - just message us.
How often can I wax the same area?
No more than once every 10 days on the same area. Hair needs to reach roughly a quarter inch for the wax to grip cleanly.
