Cold Wave Rods

Choosing the right perm rod size depends entirely on your hair length and the curl size you want. The thickness of the rod determines the curl—larger rods create soft volume, while smaller rods create tight, defined curls.

Small Rods (1/2" or smaller): Create tight, springy, corkscrew, or spiral curls. Best for shorter hair or creating highly defined kinky/coily textures.

Medium Rods (9/16" to 5/8"): Create classic bouncy, defined curls (the traditional "curly perm").

Large Rods (11/16" to 7/8"): Produce soft, voluminous curls. Often used for a "body wave" on longer hair

.Jumbo Rods (1" and larger): Create loose, beachy waves rather than defined curls. Best for adding volume, movement, and fullness to medium or long hair
