The Science of Professional Lash & Brow Tinting

Manufactured in Austria, RefectoCil has led the eye-styling industry for over 80 years. Unlike traditional oxidative hair color formulated for the scalp, RefectoCil tints and oxidants are specifically calibrated for the sensitive, thin skin of the orbital area and the unique keratin structure of lashes and brow hairs.

When mixed with RefectoCil 3% (10 Vol) oxidant, the micro-pigments penetrate the hair shaft, expanding to lock in vibrant color that does not wash out with daily cleansing, contact lens wear, or workouts.

• Pure Black No. 1: A deep, classic black formulated for clients with naturally dark hair seeking full-coverage brow depth or bold lash definition.
• Blue Black No. 2: The worldwide professional benchmark for eyelash tinting. The subtle blue undertone absorbs light to give lashes an intense, glossy, lacquer-like midnight black finish.
• Pure Natural Brown No. 3: A rich, versatile dark brown that complements brunette hair without reddish undertones. Ideal for defined, natural-looking brows.
• Pure Light Brown No. 3.1: Designed for blonds, light brunettes, and redheads who want polished brow definition without excessive darkness.
• Graphite No. 1.1: A cool-toned slate grey formulated to cover white and grey brow hairs, or to tone down overly warm or brassy tones in custom tint formulas.
• Pure Chestnut No. 4: A rich brown with warm, mahogany-red nuances, matching warm auburn, copper, and mahogany hair.
• Red No. 4.1: An intense, vibrant red pigment designed to match dyed red or copper hair, or mixed into brown shades to customize warmth.

RefectoCil Oxidant Formulations: Liquid vs. Creme

Always use RefectoCil Oxidant 3% (10 Vol) to ensure color longevity, gentle processing, and warranty compliance:

• Liquid Oxidant 3% (100ml): The classic dropper formula. Provides a fluid consistency that applies smoothly across lashes and brows. Mix 10 drops with 2 cm of tint.
• Creme Oxidant 3% (100ml): A rich, creamy formula that thickens the tint mixture, preventing drips into the eyes during lash tinting and providing crisp control during brow mapping. Mix 15 to 20 drops with 2 cm of tint.

Professional Application & Timing Protocol

1. Preparation: Cleanse the eye area thoroughly with an oil-free makeup remover. Brow and lash hairs must be completely dry and free of oils or residue.
2. Lash Protection: Apply eye protection papers or silicone pads using skin protection cream along the lower lid.
3. Mixing: In a non-metallic dish, dispense 2 cm (approx. 0.8 inches) of RefectoCil tint with 10 drops of Liquid Oxidant or 15 to 20 drops of Creme Oxidant. Mix using an application stick until a smooth, homogenous paste forms.
4. Application: Apply immediately with a precision brush or tint stick until the hairs are thoroughly saturated.
5. Processing Time:
   • Lashes: 10 minutes.
   • Brows: 5 to 10 minutes (longer processing yields deeper color and richer skin-staining).
   • Blonde Brow Bleach: 5 to 20 minutes depending on desired lightening.
6. Removal: Remove dry excess tint with a cotton round, then wipe clean with a damp cotton pad. Keep eyes closed until the final rinse is complete.
