When to Use vs. Lightener

Direct Dye Removal Only: Use exclusively to erase semi-permanent direct dyes on hair that has previously been pre-lightened.

Not a Virgin Hair Lightener: Do not use as a traditional bleach or pre-lightener on virgin or naturally pigmented hair. For initial blonding before a vivid service, use Joico Blonde Life® or VeroLight® lighteners.

Pre-Service Assessment: Always assess strand porosity and perform a preliminary strand test. Do not exceed one Eraser application in a 24-hour period.
Professional Mixing & Application Protocol

Mix Ratio: 1 full packet (43g / 1.5 oz) to 3 fl oz (90ml) of liquid.

Liquid Options:

Warm Water (H₂O): Gentle deactivation for delicate, fragile, or highly processed hair.

10 Volume (3%) LumiShine® / Veroxide® Developer: Moderate removal of direct dyes with minimal cuticle stress.

20 Volume (6%) LumiShine® / Veroxide® Developer: Maximum pigment deactivation for deep, stubborn, or layered vivid shades. (Do not use with 30V or 40V developer).

Application: Apply with a tint brush exclusively to direct-dye treated sections. Avoid untreated regrowth.

Processing Time: Up to 30 minutes at room temperature. Check every 5 minutes. Do not use heat lamps or processing caps.

Rinsing & Post-Care: Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Shampoo with Joico K-PAK® Color Therapy Shampoo, rinse, and condition with Joico K-PAK® Color Therapy Conditioner (or K-PAK Cuticle Sealer) to stabilize porosity before applying your next shade.
