The primary difference between the Joico volume developers is their hydrogen peroxide concentration, which determines the speed, levels of hair lift (lightening), and gray hair coverage they can achieve. Joico formulates these volumes across specific product lines like Joico LumiShine and Vero K-PAK to match different coloring or lightening needs

5 Volume (1.5%) + Lumishine Permanent Creme Color

• No lift. Deposit Only
• Offers no structural lift.
• Best For: Demi-permanent glosses, glazes, toning, and color correction.
• 5 - 35 Minutes
• Process at room temperature or with heat

10 Volume (3%) + Lumishine Permanent Creme Color

• Up to 1 Level
•  Lifts hair 0 to 1 levels
•  Best For: Tone-on-tone coloring, darkening hair, or a "low and slow" gentle lift with lighteners in foils.

• Do not use heat

20 Volume (6%) + Lumishine Permanent Creme Color

• Up to 2 Levels
• Best For: Standard gray hair coverage and basic permanent color application
• 35 Minutes
• Up to 45 minutes for gray coverage
• Do not use heat

30 Volume (9%) + Lumishine Permanent Creme Color

• Up to 3 Levels
• Extra lifting and advanced colouring
• Best For: High-lift hair color, open-air balayage, or resistant gray hair coverage.

40 Volume (12%) + Lumishine Permanent Creme Color

• Up to 4 Levels
• Maximum lifting
• Best For: Special high-lift blonde color series and clay lighteners
